 PYP - EXHIBITION

Exhibition is a project and an event where learners choose a real life issue and share their understanding by performances, social media blogs and more. After 6 months of researching by taking interviews, surveys, field visits, hands on activities and internet. Children also have to pick an IB action type ( advocacy, social justice, social entrepreneurship, participation and lifestyle choices) to represent their work. The exhibition helps learners to develop skills such as critical thinking, communication and collaboration. PYP exhibition is very important because it helps the learners develop skills and attributes that are essential for lifelong learning and becoming global citizens.

My exhibition topic is gender inequality. I will be sharing my journey on @blogger.com and @instagram.com.  My topic's IB td theme is who we are. I am going to work on dowry.


 TD Theme: Who We Are

Who we are is an IB td theme which explains inquiry into the nature of self and what it means to be a human. Learners also learn about human rights and responsibilities , identity , physical , mental , spiritual and emotional health, cultures and more.



Gender inequality:


Gender inequality is the unfair treatment of people based on their gender. Child marriage, cultural factors , being biased on gender and invisible labour are some causes of gender inequality.


 



Dowry:


The payment in the term of money, property or assets from the bride's family to the groom's family at the time of their marriage.

1.  How did the practice of dowry originate, and how has its purpose changed over time in different cultures? Dowry's beginnings are unclear, but it started in the pre-colonial era. It could include things like land or money for her new life of a bride.  Over time, in many places, dowry changed.
