Self management skill's workshop

 Self management skills is the ability to regulate one's emotions, thoughts and behaviour effectively in different situations. Time management:  Time management is the ability to use your time effectively to achieve goals and to do tasks on time.    Importance of time management skills: Tips of a time-effective routine: Goals:  Goals are targets people set to achieve. they can be personal, professional or academical. There are 2 types of goals long term goal and short term goal.  Long term goals: A long term goal is something you want to or you plan to do in the future such as earning a degree, buying a house or writing a book. Short term goals: A short term goal is something you want to or you plan to do within a short period of time, usually a year or less. Some examples of a short term goal are spending quality time with a loved one this weekend, creating a budget for the next month or completing a online course within a year. Research skill's workshop

  This was our second workshop for the exhibition. It was conducted by Miss Ereej ( grade 5 b's teacher ). In this workshop we learned about... 1. Research skills  Research skills are the skills to find answers to questions and solving problems. 2. Open minded questions Open ended questions can start with.... who... when.... where.... how... what.... why.... 3. Key words Key words are the words that represent the main ideas of a topic. Keywords are important while researching because they can help make your research more discoverable and and easy to find. For example: why is important to have sustainable cities?   ATL's: Approaches to learning  Approaches to learning ( ATL's ) are a set of skills and strategies that aim to help learners self regulated and become life long learners. ATL skills Thinking skills Communication skills Social skills  Research skills Self-Management skills  These skills are further divided into Sub skills. Workshops: PYP-5 have workshops before exhibition that specially talks about techniques and skills.  We also have interesting activities to understand the ATLs in a better way.
